SECOND ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE 11TH ANNUAL WORKSHOP ON AUTOMORPHIC FORMS AND RELATED TOPICS WHEN: March 23--26, 1997 WHERE: University of Colorado -- Boulder TALKS: Please send Lynne Walling the title of your taks, and the amount of time you will talk (20, 40 or 60 minutes). PLEASE SEND THIS INFORMATION BY THE FEBRUARY 15. AIRPORT: Denver International Airport (DIA) is the airport closest to Boulder. The Boulder Airporter (303-444-0808) leaves DIA for Boulder hourly, on the hour, from 8am to 11pm. The cost is $14 (one way). You do not need a reservation. Boulder Airporter has a counter near the baggage claim on the 5th level of DIA. LODGING: We recommend Foot of the Mountain Motel. It is a bit farther from the Math Building than the other hotels listed below, but the setting is lovely and the rooms are less sterile than typical hotel rooms. The Lazy L is an older motel, cheap and servicable, nothing spectacular. The Holiday Inn is a typical Holiday Inn. The Briar Rose is very nice (but expensive); also, the rooms have private toilets and showers (no tubs, I understand). The University Club is okay; sometimes guests have had difficulties there -- too much noise, broken faucets, and so forth. All these places are close to restaurants. You are to make your own arrangements for lodging unless you want to stay at the University Club (in which case you should contact Lynne with the necessary information). Foot of the Mountain Motel: (303) 442-5688 200 Arapahoe Avenue $55-$60 for one person, $65-$70 for two. Lazy-L Motel: (303) 442-7525 1000 28th Street $46+tax for one or two persons. Holiday Inn: (303) 443-3322 800 28th Street $54 for one or two persons PROVIDED YOU TELL THEM YOU ARE BOOKING A ROOM THROUGH THE CU MATH DEPT (since this is the University rate). University Club: (303) 492-0249 (Lynne's number) 976 Broadway $46-$75 for one person, $65-$80 for two. Briar Rose: (303) 442-3007 2151 Arapahoe $79-$89 for one person, $94-$104 for two. RECREATION: The Boulder School of Massage Therapy Clinic offers hour-long massages for $25. (This school is not incredibly close to the university; one could drive or take public transportation to get there.) For reservations, call (303) 443-7378. One can rent mountain bikes from University Bicycles Ltd, 839 Pearl Street, (303) 444-4196. The cost is $14 for 4 hours, $18 for a full day, $22 for 24 hours. The closest ski resort is Eldora Mountain Resort in Nederland, (303) 440-8700. They offer both cross-country and down-hill skiing, as well as ski rentals. The local RTD Bus system has routes to Eldora; the schedules will be available at the conference.
